About the Author

I first became interested in the history of Roman Britain as a child and loved reading the 'Eagle of the Ninth' trilogy of novels by Rosemary Sutcliff. When I was older I read and studied all that I could about the Roman period in Britain and especially the events of the 4th century CE.

I'd always had a passion for writing and when I retired I decided to write novels set in late 4th Century CE Roman Britain. 'Divided Empire' was my first published novel and was published in November 2015. 'Dark Betrayal' was the second novel in the 'Divided Empire' series and was published December 2016.

I first started writing when I was 17 years of age and my first attempt at fiction was a science fiction novel, which I never finished. In 2017 I decided that it was time I finished writing that novel and The Sol 3 Agenda was the result. Published in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 outbreak, it was a novel I got the most pleasure from writing. There will be a sequel to The Sol 3 Agenda entitled The Sword of Light.

Now that The Sol 3 Agenda is published, I will be finishing writing the third and final book in the Divided Empire series entitled The Wolves of Erin. A good start on the book has been made and hopefully it will be ready for publication in 2021/2022.

I live in Burton upon Trent, England with my wife Lynne, son Mark and our two tortoise shell cats, Tansy & Zoe. I enjoy walking in our local countryside and also the Peak District, Derbyshire. I also enjoy photography, reading, writing, visiting museums and historic sites and buildings and supporting our local Football League team, Burton Albion, which I've done for over 50 years.

I hope you enjoy my novels as much as I enjoy researching and writing them. I welcome feedback from readers and especially like reading reviews left by them. Like all authors I very much appreciate readers taking the time to leave reviews and I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has left a review for one of my books.
